Father's Day

Happy Father's Day Trevor! You are the best dad and we are all so lucky to have you. You bring so much joy in to all of our lives.

Here are just 10 reasons why Peyton, Presley and Piper love you:

1. Daddy always gives us hugs and kisses before work
2. He watches TV with us
3. I love him so much and Jesus too (this was Presleys response)
4. He reads books with us
5. He takes us swimming
6. He is handsome
7. He tickles us and makes us laugh
8. He keeps me safe when he's in my room
9. He wears our favorite color pink to work
10. Daddy always plays the Prince when we play Sleeping Beauty

We love you Daddy

To My Dad,

I missed you today. I really missed you today. I missed you telling us all week not to get you a gift this year, that just spending time with us was enough. I missed your face lighting up when you opened the gifts we got you anyway. I missed you kissing me and the girls on the head when we came over to see you. I missed you grilling steak, doing dishes, and making sure everyone had enough to eat. I missed winking at you to let you know I had. I missed your eyes get big as we talked about Lindsay and Kevins wedding. I missed you asking Jenn about her work. I missed you stressing out that my girls were going to break something and your dogs were going to chew something. I missed your smile. I missed you.

Dad, I have learned so much from you. You have made me who I am and who I will make my children. You taught me to set goals and to keep them. You taught me never to settle. You taught me honesty and fairness. You were my role model and my hero. Your were my strength when I was weak. You were my go-to guy no matter what the circumstances. You were my shoulder to cry on. You were my support system. You were my prince.

You are an amazing man and I will continue to honor you as I continue this life journey without you.

I love and miss you dad. Happy Father's Day

Ride Em Cowboy

Over the weekend Trevor, me, my mom, my sister Lindsay, and my cousin Kevin went up to Flagstaff to watch my dad's best friend Steve ride and rope in a tournament that was going on up there. What an amazing sport! Steve is the what they call a header ( ropes the horns first) and then his partner wraps the heals of the steer. Steve is truly talented as this is extremely hard to do. Well Steve was doing so great until....things got a little out of control :) On his first ride in the second round Steve was off to a great start catching the steer quickly. Unfortunately, the steer went in another direction and Steve was forced to let go of the rope and the reins of his horse. His horse not knowing what to do and heading straight for the fence started bucking, throwing Steve over the fence. Steve is such a stud, he made this flip look professional! Steve stood up letting us know he was ok which he was....the bad news is when he climbed back over the wall to go get his horse, he realized he was missing his ring finger! OMG! So some of the other riders got on their horses and headed out to the middle of the arena to look for his finger! Luckily, we did find it and put it on ice and headed to the hospital. Steve was very calm during this whole ordeal and after arriving at the hospital he and the medical experts decided they couldn't re-attach the finger so they shaved the bone down and skin graphed the rest. Crazy!

Steve you made this one heck of a day for us. I know my dad would of been so proud of you! We can't waid to see you ride again!! Thanks for the laughs, scare and the memories.

Here is a picture of Steve (pictured in back) coming out of the gates.

And here is the video of the ride. We didn't get the back flip over the fence but you can see where he loses his rope. It all happened so dang fast! Steve you are a ROCKSTAR!!

What's Heaven?

Last night I was reading a book called What's Heaven by Maria Shriver to the girls before bed. It is a wonderful book about alittle girl asking questions about heaven when a loved one dies. And since the girls are very curious about heaven it does a great job of explaining these questions. I probably should of read the book to myself before out loud to the girls because half way into the book I found myself vulnerable and emotional. I think it was the simplicity of all the answers and talking about ones soul that brought me to tears. And just when I thought I really need to get myself together, this conversation occurred,

Peyton: "Mom why are you crying?"

Mom: " Well this book as made me think of your Papa and his soul and all the things that made up his soul"

Peyton: " Go ahead and cry mom, you are okay, I will hold you"

Presley: " You sad mom? Don't worry, Papa is safe now."

And then the three of laid there and I cried.

This morning I saw the girls laying together on the floor and I just felt so blessed. Blessed to have these 3 healthy and amazing girls. Blessed to know that no matter what age my girls are they will take care of me and keep me going.

Dear Peyton and Presley,

Thank you for last night. Thank you for being my rock and for giving me a moment to cry for my dad. I love you.

Mom.

Disneyland....Again

My girlfriend and I took the kids to Disneyland over the holiday weekend and once again had a blast! We didn't see as many characters as we have in the past but this time we took the girls to bippity boppity boutique to get their hair and makeup done. They LOVED it! It was a really neat expirience and they sported their look ALL day. We had great weather and the kids were sooo good. This was Pipers first time and she was able to get on all the rides!

Lobster Dinner

One night after my dad's passing we decided to all get together for dinner as a family. My aunt Vicki ordered us lobster!! We had a great night of sharing memories about my dad and spending time together. It was a lot fun eating them too! The girls weren't into eating them as much as they playing with them.
