Here is what happened:
Things were going very well. I was in control and on top of things. The girls were fed and clean and were playing nicely together in their room. Trev was working late so it was just me so I thought, hmmmm maybe I can eat dinner really quick while everyone is busy and happy. So I try and think of something that I can make and eat quick and easy. I come up with a cup of noodles and some toast to go with it. I put the noodles in the microwave and the bread in the toaster. So far so good, no ankle biters yet. Then everything is ready and I set up my spot on the counter and sit down. My first mistake was sitting down. Before I know it, Presley is pulling on my pants and whining to sit on my lap, Peyton is "doing my hair" and I am trying to get one noodle in my mouth! Now both girls are hungry again and want some of my soup. So I divide my dinner up between the 3 of us. In my head I am thinking at least I still have my toast, that will fill me up. Now both girls want milk to go with their second dinner. I get up and get the girls their milk. I come back to counter to have Presley throwing the noodles on the wall across the room and Peyton feeding the dogs my toast.
So, now I am just praying that I can eat the third of noodles left in bowl. But by now the girls are finished with their sharing of food and want down and to finish my hair and nails. So Presley is hanging on my arm to play with my hands and nails and Peyton is pulling on my hair so I am trying to eat sideways. OH MY GOODNESS.
So I didn't get to eat that night but lucky for me, there is always tomorrow :)
Moral of my story is not to eat when your kids are awake.
